A short WhatsApp message is enough, or an email to the clinic. The earlier you write, the more of the calendar is still open.

Send your X-ray by email
If you have a recent X-ray or a treatment plan from your own dentist, send it to drbesnikshehu@gmail.com. Email is the right channel for medical documents, not WhatsApp.

Two trips, one treatment
What fits into one stay, and what does not
Some work can be finished in a few days; some needs a healing period that cannot be shortened. You find that out beforehand, not when your flight home is due. A crown or a bridge is ready within about a week. If a tooth has to come out, around three weeks of healing follow before the work continues. With implants, three to four months sit between the surgery and the final crown.

What patients from abroad ask
How are the instruments sterilised?
In a class B autoclave. Class B means a fractionated pre-vacuum: the air is actively removed before the cycle, so the steam also reaches inside packaged instruments and hollow instruments, which a simpler machine does not. Every set is sealed individually, carries a colour indicator and is opened in front of you. Needles, gloves, masks and cups are single use.
How many days do I need for an implant?
Placing an implant takes about fifteen minutes. The final crown follows after three to four months, which usually means your next visit. Many patients from abroad deliberately split the treatment across two trips.
Can the treatment plan be drawn up before I arrive?
Yes, provided you send a recent X-ray by email. The final plan is always confirmed after the examination at the clinic, because an X-ray does not show everything.
Which languages are used during treatment?
Albanian, German and English. Dr. Shehu worked in two German dental practices between 2015 and 2018, so if you would rather have everything explained in German, that is available. The examination, the plan and the aftercare instructions are given in the language you choose.
When is the clinic busiest?
July, August and September. In those months more than half the patients come from abroad, and appointments go quickly. Writing early is what decides whether you get a time that fits your trip or wait for one.
Will my insurance at home cover treatment in Kosovo?
That depends on your insurer and on the type of treatment, so please check it with them directly. The clinic provides documentation of the treatment carried out, which you can submit.
What should I bring with me?
A recent X-ray if you have one, and a list of your medication. If you take blood thinners or have known allergies, tell us before the appointment rather than in the chair.
